Preliminary task 1: practice shoot

RECAP
  • We brought the gear down to where we were shooting then our actors arrived straight away so there wasn't time to set up so well I set a scene for the actors of what it was going to look like Billie took out the things we didn't want in the hallway for our shot *mis on scene* then well our actresses were practicing we set the gear up and first room for example how we wanted our lighting to look what I got from this was set up early before your actors get there it will make it so much easier and faster.
  • What went well?
  • the weather was great nice and clear.
  • our talent was amazing barely had to reshoot.
  • a positive thing is when we shot in the hallway there was an unexpected lighting that made the shoot look scarier and altogether what we wanted.
  • What was challenging?
  • a challenge was me and my partner Billie didn't have a conversation of how shooting together was going to be which we will do next time because we learned that if we both have two different visions it won't be a smooth shoot and we had some disagreements.
  • negative was the camera that had been on charge all day kept on going flat.
  •  People walking through.
  • went on way later then we expected.
  • negative is we had a certain amount of time with our younger actress as she had to get home not too late which created more stress.
  • What will we do differently next time?
  • what I got from this was set up early before your actors get there it will make it so much easier and faster.
  • Talk with whoever you're working with before the day of filming to be on the same page for. example the director should talk with story artist.
  • more is better add more scenes so you have more to pick from for example a monologue to set up the scene.
